What's Waiting on the Other Side? by Lydia Fields
When we hear the phrase, “conquer your fear,” what’s usually the first thing that pops into our head?
For most people, the first thing you would think of is putting yourself into a situation where you would have to go head to head with your fears, and hopefully come out victorious.
For example, if you were afraid of heights you might go ride a roller coaster, or if you are afraid of the ocean you might go and stand ankle deep in the waves.
Some people would start small using baby steps, and other people would go big taking giant leaps.
Regardless of how you decide to go after it, the fact is, so many people experience breakthrough when they go after the things they’re most afraid of.
breakthrough is always on the
other side of your fear.
It seems really practical when you break it down that obviously the enemy is going to go after an area in your life that you are called to be really powerful in, rather than go after the areas that your destiny doesn’t lie in.
He wants to scare us away from our power and keep us from finding the keys we hold to the kingdom.
Well, I say enough is enough!
We hold the cards!
It is time to break the illusion that Satan is more powerful than us.
When you look up the definition of fear it says this: “an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.”
Now read that definition again and stop at the word “belief.” The most powerful key of information we could obtain from that definition is that...
Our fears are formed from the beliefs we have about the world, not from the facts.
Yes, for some people facts, statistics, and experiences tie into their fears, but in the end it all comes down to your beliefs about those facts, statistics, and experiences.
Here’s the first step towards breakthrough:
God gave us a free will.
Do you know what that means?
We can change what we believe.
How great is that?
There’s a reason that so many people experience such crazy breakthrough from going after their fears.
When people do the things they’re afraid of, they realize that their beliefs don’t line up with the truth.
Their belief that they should be terrified of spiders or public speaking is broken off of them because they’ve broken the lie with the enemy that told them, “You can never do that because you’re not powerful enough and you’ll get hurt.”
Yes, spiders can bite.
Yes, people could “boo” you off the stage while you’re speaking.
But when we stop believing the lies and learn to fall back on the truth that the Lord gives us, then the world stops being so scary.
We realize that...
God is more powerful than it ALL our fears.
His truth is sovereign.
His truth magnifies our purpose.
His truth propels us toward our destiny.
Even if my legs quake while I’m climbing up a ladder...
Even if my voice cracks while I’m singing in front of hundreds...
The very fact that I’m breaking lies and ties with the enemy and that my God is there to catch me if I fall is enough to keep pushing me forward and to keep going after my fears.
So, if you’re ever wondering what’s waiting on the other side of your fear the answer is this...
If you need help getting on the other side of your fears.
If you crave breakthrough in your life.
We know how to help you make both of these desires a reality...not something that you feel imprisoned and hopeless about anymore.
