Think about the biggest BREAKTHROUGH in your life. What lasting change did it produce? How did it affect your identity? How did your breakthrough impact those around you?
It was 1982. I was sitting in government class in high school and my teacher whispered in my ear "I want to see you in the teacher's lounge after class." You were summoned to a teachers break-room for one reason in those days. You were in trouble, big trouble if you know what I mean. I was nervous for the next fifty minutes.
I walked into the teacher's hangout and my government teacher and football coach asked me to sit down. They began to explain to me that they found a new home for me. Big tears filled my eyes. Their special friend Mr James Wilson Crump the former principal of the high school asked them if I needed help. They shared my story with him. Mr Crump found out that my home life was abusive and he decided to rescue me and give me a place to live, with him. I couldn't believe that I was getting this big break in life. Wilson became the father I never had.
I went from being this punk kid from Enon, Virginia to being the adopted son of an aristocratic gentleman who lived in a Victorian mansion. This is where I would learn to be loved. My life's purpose has been about paying it forward. Offering the gift of love and acceptance is a mission that has taken me around the world.
THE GREATEST BREAKTHROUGH IN HISTORY TOOK PLACE WHEN JESUS BECAME A MAN LIVED AMONG US AND ULTIMATELY DESTROYED SIN BY DYING ON A CROSS!
Jesus made a way for us to turn our worst selves into saints. The only requirement is that we learn to be loved. The LOVE OF JESUS is the key to YOUR BREAK THROUGH.
Jesus is God's love personified in a man. HE wants to live in you and share HIS love through you. The degree to which you enjoy the benefits of HIS breakthrough depends on how willing you are to be changed by HIS love.
